Our Minister

Rev. Akindele brings many years of ministry experience to his new role as the founding minister at Christ Our Rock United Church.

Akindele was previously ordained as an Anglican minister in Nigeria and is now admitted as a minister in The United Church of Canada.

He’s recently arrived from Nigeria, where he served with distinction as a church planter, educator, writer and chaplain. His ministry has been marked by a deep commitment to building vibrant faith communities and nurturing spiritual growth.

In addition to his extensive work in church planting, he has a strong passion for social justice, human rights and addressing the impacts of climate change.

Akindele is a stronger believer in the biblical truth that with God, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26). This conviction fuels his vision for Christ Our Rock United Church as a place where lives are transformed through the power of God.

Rev. Akindele is happily married and is blessed with a son.

Akindele is excited to serve the Pemberton Community and looks forward to connecting with individuals and families who are seeking a welcome, Christ-centred church home.
